Gallery Weekend

Barcelona Gallery Weekend is an annual four-day event promoted by the association Art Barcelona open to all the galleries of the city and its outskirts. It gathers a general programme of exhibitions in art galleries and a parallel programme of guided visits by the gallerists, artists and curators, performances, talks, presentations and other special activities around contemporary and avant-garde art. From 17th to 20th September 2020 it will celebrate its sixth edition.

Barcelona Gallery Weekend seeks to reinforce and make visible the rich and varied artistic scene of Barcelona, promote art collecting and highlight the work of the galleries, as culture generating spaces open to citizens, and the artists they represent.

Barcelona Gallery Weekend reaches different types of audience:

The Public Programme is aimed at all citizens of Barcelona and its surroundings. Art lovers who want to discover the city's artistic offer can visit all the exhibitions, attend the openings, special activities and presentations that take place during the four days.

The Professional Programme is mainly aimed at collectors, art critics and representatives of local and international institutions. BGW designs personalized guided tours for our professional guests, so they discover the artistic proposals of Barcelona and celebrate together the opening of the new season. Moreover, the professional programme features social events and meetings to find information and exchange points of view with gallery owners and the event collaborators.

Artévete Programme is designet for all those who are considering to start acquiring artworks. With the aim of promoting a closer relationship with the art market, Artévete offers an agenda of talks with buyers and other agents in the sector, guided tours to collections and social events during BGW2020.

Lastly, Acquisitions Programme is aimed at foundations and private companies that commit to incorporate into their collections artworks from among those exhibited in the participating galleries during the BGW.
