The 10th anniversary of Barcelona Gallery Weekend will feature a new edition of the Acquisitions Programme, through which foundations, companies and other entities commit to incorporate works presented by Barcelona Gallery Weekend 2024 galleries into their collections.

We are pleased to announce that Fundació Vila Casas, faithful to this initiative since its first edition in 2017, has confirmed its participation in the eighth edition of the programme. This non-profit institution was founded by Antoni Vila Casas (Barcelona, 1930-2023) in 1986 to promote Catalan contemporary art, and currently holds four exhibition spaces in Catalunya.

Joining this edition for the first time is Fundació Sorigué, which builds up one of tthe most important contemporary art collections in Spain with more than 450 works by national and international artists. The collection is housed in the museum of Fundació Sorigué in Lleida (Catalonia), where, in addition to the permanent collection, temporary exhibitions are programmed focusing on promoting contemporary artistic creation.

Also taking part for the first time is Fundació Úniques, which aims to promote and foster the work of contemporary women artists living in the Països Catalans, giving them visibility in the local and international sphere, with special emphasis on equal opportunities in the artistic sphere.

The art works acquired through the Acquisitions Programme will be freely selected by each entity, without price limitation and in direct relation to the participating galleries.

New additions to the programme will be announced soon.
