Artur Ramon Art

Created in 1911 as an antiguarian, Artur Ramon Art is one of the oldest art galleries in Barcelona the new  new space hosts two different areas that complement each other: Art Space and Private Art Gallery. 

In the Art Space, contemporary artists explore ancient art in search of a new way of explaining the profession of antique dealer. Analogies, interventions, dialogues, conferences and presentations linked to contemporary art and culture dynamically complement the usual activity of the art gallery in Barcelona. The Private Art Gallery, has been conceived as a space for the management of high quality painting, drawing, sculpture, ceramics and furniture, designed to stimulate public and private collecting. The gallery has an annual presence at the main international fairs dedicated to antiques and modern antique drawing, the Salon du Dessin in Paris, TEFAF Maastrich and also Master Drawings Week in New York and London.

In her work, Tabanera uses the expressiveness of materials traditionally linked to craftsmanship, such as glass and straw, in a sculptural way. In her own manipulation away from the conventions of craftsmanship, she loads the objects with universal iconological content.   

Hence arises the dichotomy between the fantasy, the primitive, the deep, the surreal, the dream and the magical.
