About the gallery
Prats Nogueras Blanchard is the union of two established galleries, Galeria Joan Prats and Nogueras Blanchard in March 2024. The merging of our two projects is a transformative synergy that promises to contribute significantly to the Spanish and international art scene. Prats Nogueras Blanchard, has bases in Madrid and Barcelona, and is committed to curating and to the production of discourse in dialogue with artists. Our combined roster of artists is intergenerational, and while representing a genealogy of Spanish artists, we bring together diverse voices, disciplines and practices from a wider international perspective with a focus on the Mediterranean and Latin America.
Galeria Joan Prats has been a pioneer since its establishment in Barcelona in 1976 championing conceptual practices of Spanish artists such as Muntadas, Perejaume, Joan Miró, or Joan Brossa, and international artists such as Ed Ruscha, Christo & Jeanne Claude or Hannah Collins. NoguerasBlanchard was founded in Barcelona in 2004 and opened in Madrid in 2012, supporting an international and intergenerational array of artists, from Ester Partegàs and Mercedes Azpilicueta to Ana Mendieta or Antoni Tàpies. Alongside the galleries’ exhibition programme, we have produced publications, organized talks, performances and events in support of the artists’ multidisciplinary and critical practices. Our gallery’s commitment to showcasing curatorial excellence and providing unwavering support to artists, have made them key players in the Spanish art scene over the past decades.
