Mikel Escobales (Arrasate/Mondragón, 1991). He completed his studies at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the Complutense University of Madrid in 2013 and earned a Master’s degree in Contemporary Art History and Visual Culture at MNCARS in 2016. He has held solo exhibitions at Raccon Projects, Barcelona (2025); El Garaje 259, Aretxabaleta (2024); and the Blueproject Foundation, Barcelona (2019), among other venues. He has also participated in group exhibitions at Saceca, Sagunto, and Fabra i Coats Centre d’Art Contemporani, Barcelona (2024); Okela, Bilbao, and Salón, Madrid (2022); Tabakalera, Donostia/San Sebastián (2021); Artium, Basque Museum-Center of Contemporary Art, Vitoria-Gasteiz (2020); and Azpi, Donostia/San Sebastián (2019), as well as in other exhibition contexts. In 2024, he received the Miquel Casablancas Award in the artwork category. He has undertaken residencies at institutions such as the Guggenheim Museum in New York (2022), as part of the Basque Artist Program; Gasworks, London (2021); and Tabakalera, Donostia/San Sebastián (2020).
