Artur Ramon Art

Created in 1911 as an antiguarian, Artur Ramon Art is one of the oldest art galleries in Barcelona the new  new space hosts two different areas that complement each other: Art Space and Private Art Gallery. 

In the Art Space, contemporary artists explore ancient art in search of a new way of explaining the profession of antique dealer. Analogies, interventions, dialogues, conferences and presentations linked to contemporary art and culture dynamically complement the usual activity of the art gallery in Barcelona. The Private Art Gallery, has been conceived as a space for the management of high quality painting, drawing, sculpture, ceramics and furniture, designed to stimulate public and private collecting. The gallery has an annual presence at the main international fairs dedicated to antiques and modern antique drawing, the Salon du Dessin in Paris, TEFAF Maastrich and also Master Drawings Week in New York and London.

Do trees have imagination? And if they do, where do they represent it? These questions are difficult to answer because, at first, it is hard for us to believe that there could also be other beings with the capacity to think and imagine, other than ourselves.

The project takes as a reference a community of trees that coexist with other living beings in a specific area, in this case, the city of Barcelona.

I have paid attention to the trunk. This part is the tree's visible, unique, and expressive face, the one that is perennial and where its evolution is manifested: a whole language. The process has been to search for and select an individual from 373 different species.

With an infinity of pigments, the result of the relationship between the earth and the sky, the tree draws a dreamlike, fantastic, and magical world. The result is a series of photographs that show how the tree externalizes its creativity.
