Acquisitions Programme 2024: MIA Art Collection

1 www collage b&w (2024) by artist Nieves Mingueza, featured in the exhibition winters while waiting at FUGA, joins MIA Art Collection.

Mingueza's project explores online gender abuse through the reuse of found photographs as transitional objects, assigning them new meanings, contexts and audiences, while reflecting on the ethical considerations of using these artefacts in artistic practice.

MIA Art Collection is a private art collection aimed at promoting women artists and their work, taking into account the discrimination and inequalities in gender rights that women still face.
