Site-Specific Conversation x Barcelona Gallery Weekend 2023 #1

Site-Specific Conversation offers a series of conversations with artists and gallerists participating in Barcelona Gallery Weekend 2023 that will be published weekly during the summer.

The proposal once again takes a novel, this time written by Patti Smith, Just Kids, to focus on "growing up together" and delve into the beginnings, professionalisation, coexisting with the demands of the art market and collaborative dynamics, among other aspects.

We are kicking off the series with gallerist Patricia de Muga from Galeria Joan Prats and Lola Lasurt, one of the youngest artists represented by the gallery. Together, we talk about what renewal means in a legendary gallery, what working in a gallery you admire represents for an artist, and how artistic processes can overcome the market’s expectations by taking ample time and space for research.
